(ASK ME ANYTHING!)

WHERE ARE YOU BASED AND DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?

I live in West Sussex, but will happily travel throughout the UK and beyond. I love to travel overseas too, so wherever you’re getting hitched, I can make it work.

WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I’m currently shooting with both Canon and Sony. Specifically, x2 Canon 5D mk3s (EOS) and x1 Sony A7iii (mirrorless), with a selection of top grade primes for both systems. That’ll either mean something to you or it won’t , either way they take great images!
IS THIS YOUR FULL TIME JOB?
HELL YES. I’m honestly not sure what else I’d do.
HOW MANY WEDDINGS HAVE YOU SHOT?
Around 250 in the past decade or so. I KNOW. I’ve been everywhere, from Lands End to John O’ Groats and beyond (well, almost). My Lake Como wedding that I shot last year was particularly cool. I only take on a select number of commissions every year to give each one my full attention.
HOW LONG DO YOU SPEND TAKING COUPLE PORTRAITS?
We will keep these brief, I promise you. You’ve got a party to get back to! We’ll factor in around thirty minutes to capture some great portraits of just the two of you, then I’ll release you back to your guests.
DO YOU TAKE GROUP PHOTOS?
Absolutely. Relaxed, informal and fun, I think group shots can be awesome. I do recommend we keep a lid on how many we do though, too many can spoil the flow of your day.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR EQUIPMENT GETS DAMAGED?
I always shoot with two cameras, and have numerous Professional series lenses in my bag so there are multiple options should the worst happen.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Sure. I have both Professional Indemnity and Professional Liability – so if you or any of your guests take a tumble over my bag following a few too many gins, we’re all good…
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CALL IN SICK?
Touch wood, this has never happened to me. Although, I am human so it could happen. However, I have a large network of lovely, talented wedding photographer colleagues who could step in at short notice, so I would do everything in my power not to leave you high and dry.
HOW LONG DO WE WAIT FOR OUR PHOTOS?
Depending on the time of year, I try to have your full gallery completed and available for you to view online in 6-8 weeks.
HOW MANY PICTURES WILL WE GET?
This really does vary from wedding to wedding, however, I tend to provide around 450 carefully selected and edited images; all high resolution and print-ready for you.
DO WE GET COLOUR OR B&W IMAGES?
This is a creative decision I make whilst editing. Some photographs suit colour more and others really bangin’ in monochrome. If you have a particular preference, we can talk about that beforehand. Otherwise you can leave this one with me, I know you’ll love what I come up with.
CAN WE ORDER AN ALBUM FROM YOU?
YES. I do a lovely album. You can order an album at any time up to a year after your wedding day (the gift for that first wedding anniversary is paper, just sayin’). I have some gorgeous options, all designed by yours truly and handmade here in the UK (or New Zealand, they make great albums out there). I will happily show you a few samples ahead of ordering. If you love my albums but are feeling a bit low on funds after the wedding, I offer payment plans for albums, meaning you can pay in instalments over six months. Ultimately, if I can make it work for you, I will. I feel very passionately about the albums.
DO YOU GET EMOTIONAL AT WEDDINGS?
Absolutely not. How unprofessional. No. Never. OK, occasionally. I’m only human.
CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY BUY PICTURES?
Yep, you’ll have an online gallery with a password to share with your friends and family. It’s super simple, even grandparents can use it (tried and tested).
HOW DO WE BOOK?
We can meet in person or via Skype (depending on your preference). I think it’s really important that we meet face-to-face (even if it’s aided by Skype) because the connection we make with one another is really crucial. Shooting someone’s wedding is a big responsibility and it’s so important that you trust me, that I get you and that we spark a relationship. I know that sounds intense, but honestly, the better we know one another, the better the photos. Meeting in person is even better, as we can both get a feel for what the other is about, and you can touch and feel some of my lovely albums.

If you like the look of me and my work, I will send you a contract and take a £500 non-refundable deposit to secure the date. The final balance is due 60 days before the wedding.

DO YOU EVER ‘SAY CHEESE’?
Hell no! That is all.

Still got a question? No problem.
