Festival Wedding at Yoghurt Rooms ~ Maria & Herbie’s Relaxed Festival Style Wedding

Boho festival style wedding at the Yoghurt Rooms you say?! Yes please I squealed when Maria and Herbie got in touch with me to capture their relaxed, fun filled two day wedding celebrations.  Everything about their wedding weekend was heartfelt, honest and filled with love.  Maria and Herbie, their wonderful families and friends all put their hearts and souls into everything.  The whole weekend was pure joy and happiness, and I can’t tell you what a pleasure it was to capture.

The weekend kicked off with their actual wedding itself, which was a relaxed, intimate affair attended only by their families.  Family is everything to them both, and having them all very much part of the day was what it was all about.  All their siblings played their own special roles throughout the weekend, from hair styling  to music and sound, picking up various things to ensure the wedding celebrations went as smoothly as possible for Maria and Herbie.  After their very personal ceremony, everyone was treated to much needed cool drinks and super tasty food created by the brilliant Yellow Kitchen, and finishing up with a family feast in the gorgeous barn at the Yoghurt Rooms.  With everyone staying on site in bell tents and yurts, much laughter was shared well into the evening.  After sleeping under the stars, everyone rallied around to ensure that day 2 of the weekend matched the festival wedding celebrations of their dreams – which was most definitely delivered on and some! DAY 2 – THE WEDDING FESTIVAL

The buzz on arrival in the morning of day 2 of Maria and Herbie’s wonderful wedding weekend was brilliant.  Amongst the coloured flags and street food vendors, camper vans were pitching, friends arriving with arms full of bedding, beers and huge smiles on their faces.  Kids were running around, some flaked out from all the fun the day before, and the excitement and joy was buzzing through the air.  Maria and Herbie kicked the celebrations off with a naming ceremony, whereby they announced their new married chosen surname – deciding against double barrelling their names, and opting instead for a new name altogether which was just brilliant!  Speeches were made, tears were shed, laughter was aplenty, and hearts were full.  Under the blazing sun, they danced all day, ate scrumptious food and shared hugs and laughter with their favourite humans.  It was pure joy.
