The Kingscote Barn, Gloucestershire Weddings ~ Laura & Gui : i do

Laura and Gui adore each other deeply. They are self-confessed foodies, lovers of tea and all things vintage – Laura on the few occasions I’ve met her has never failed to wow me with her style and talent for throwing together vintage clothing to look effortlessly cool and chic! Not surprisingly, she created the same effect with Kingscote Barn in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, which they chose to host their Wedding celebrations – with hours of trawling charity shops and collecting bits and pieces over the years, coming together to create a visual feast of vintage gorgeousness that totally reflected who they are and how they live. So, I knew from the offset that they and their day would look wonderful, but most importantly I knew it would be brimming with the most important stuff…love, laughter and bags of happiness…and as you may know cos I’ve said it a whole heap of times….this is what makes a wedding for me and it is this that inspires me to be a photographer!

It was so lovely to arrive on the morning of the wedding to a wonderful buzz in the Barn…created by family and friends putting together the finishing touches of all the DIY-ing Laura, Gui and their respective mums been doing in the months leading up to the big day – in particular the homemade jams, the fingerprint love tree, the needlework crafted place settings, the bouquets, fabulous crafted button holes and all the paper pom poms lovingly handmade – but to name a few! So much love, care and attention was given to every little detail of the day….it was super personal which I love and they even managed to serve their favourite Cocktails in their celebrations (Laura’s being a ‘Pisco Sour’ and Gui’s being a ‘Mojito’).

As with all weddings, there are some things that really stand out for me and with Laura and Gui’s it has to be their vows….being a Humanist ceremony it was extremely personal and they’d writen their own vows which were both touching and funny….Laura started by vowing to learn each and every one of the Footballers’ names from Gui’s favourite team at the start of each season, and Gui vowed to always agree that Laura did infact need another vintage cake stand whenever she found one! hehehehe – there was not a dry eye in the house, from the humour and the love that they shared with each other not just during their vows, but throughout their whole day. Loved it 🙂

Laura and Gui, I really enjoyed being chosen to capture your fabulous day – thankyou! And finally best wishes for your big move to Vietnam…! A x
