Mayo & Lon: i heart u

I have to say I do love a little jaunt up to London’s vibrant Southbank area now and again, for a little London Engagement Photography.  With Mayo and Lon getting wed at the weekend, I just had to share a few of my favourites from our time together yesterday in sunny London.  It was our first meeting in person, as they’d arranged their wedding from Tokyo, so we started off with a coffee and a chat by the Thames and moved on to the shoot afterwards.  They were so lovely to be around, and it was so relaxed and fun.  I always advise my couples that the photos they will love the most are the ones of them where they are being themselves…to ‘just be’ in front of the camera is what creates such natural, relaxed photos.  And this is where your relationship with your photographer is key – it’s essential that you feel at ease with them and have a connection.  One of my most favourite quotes about photography, is this by the famous Photographer Edward Steichen who said “A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it” – this is so very true, and these guys are testament to that…I especially love the images we created at the end…the last 2 in this blog post make my heart skip a beat when I look at them, and I can’t help but smile.  So looking forward to capturing their special day for them at the wonderful Eltham Palace in London.  Be sure to come back to see!
