An English Country Garden Tea Party, Kent Wedding ~ Marie-Claire & Nick: i do

An English Country Garden Tea Party, Kent Wedding

If ever there were two people who were destined to be together, then it is Marie-Claire and Nick. The love they share between them and that around them on their wedding day was simply magical…and when I heard more about their love story I understood why. Marie-Claire and Nick’s parents all went to school together and as such are life long friends…so Marie-Claire and Nick first set eyes on each other as babies – as is often the way in life the parents saw less of each other whilst still remaining friends…but fate was to play it’s part and later in their early 20’s, Marie-Claire and Nick met at a party and it was love at first sight. They are such beautiful souls and so too are their families…it was an honour and a priviledge to be with them on this special day, and I hope that you’ll agree that the pictures below tell the story of their day perfectly…lots of love, fun and laughter.

Their choices for the entire day were to be based around the things that are special to them…family, friends, travel and food (perfect in my book!)…and a fitting decision was to choose to have their wedding celebrations at Marie-Claire’s childhood home….her mum and step-dad did a grand job of decorating it wonderfully and the gardens were a delight to be in – full of colour and scent. They chose to hire their marquee from the Arabian Tents company , and the fabulous Sally and her team from Splendid Days adorned it with beautiful vintage tea sets, cake stands and teapots from which guests enjoyed their English high tea – and all the flowers were grown locally by friends…I’ve never seen such vibrant colours and the range of different flowers together was awesome. To top it all off Nick’s mum made some chutney for guest favours, alongwith some extremely tasty home made Apple juice from their orchard in Matfield. Many more things went on behind the scenes…so many family members and Marie-Claire and Nick too making bits and bobs – alot of love and thought went into every aspect of the day.

And the stylishness didn’t stop there……any bride who wears a Fur Coat No Knickers dress is class in my book as these dresses never cease to wow me (and anyone who sees them!)…they are stunning vintage treasures. Marie-Claire’s was red with pink and white flowers on it, and she teamed it up with a delightful vintage veil and hairpiece, alongwith some super Rachel Simpson shoes…she looked breathtakingly beautiful! Nick looked very dapper too in his mid-blue custom made suit…very lovely indeed!

Everything about this wedding made my heart sing 🙂 Go see why…

    Hi Annamarie

We were the florists/flower arrangers/growers for the above wedding and didn’t manage to take any photos of the flowers in situ as the light had gone by the time we were setting up so it is lovely to be able to see them in all their glory. I have to own up that this was our first big wedding as this is our first year of growing commercially! Could we beg a couple of pictures from you to put on our website which is in the process of being built and perhaps we could link your website and skills in with ours. What do you think?

    Best wishes

Bonjour! I was just sending some wedding links to a friend who is getting married next year and was surprised to see Marie-Claire on Rock n’ Roll Bride! Her and I worked in the same organisation a couple of years ago (hello MC if you are reading this!) and wow, she looks amazing in that red grown! It seemed like such a perfect day. I love the decoration in the marquee and the tea pots is such a clever idea! Tthe photos of course are stunning. Bravo!
