Great Higham Barn, Kent Wedding ~ Monika & Jason: i do

Monika and Jason’s Great Higham Barn Wedding was an explosion of colour, fun and love – just like them…it was such a pleasure to be there to capture it for them and see so much happiness between them and their families/friends. I knew from when we first met that Monika and Jason’s wedding was always going to be full of gorgeousness for many reasons – namely becuase it was styled by the fabulous Jennifer Sue Weddings – a lovely lady and talented Wedding planner/stylist – and also because a major focus for them was the coming together of their families from 2 cultures…South Africa and Finland…and so it was important that it was relaxed and full of joy. Great Higham Farm was the perfect location as they had the whole place especially for their families and friends and the vibe was brilliant.

With sunny blue skies, it was a calm happy start to the morning with Jason getting ready with his Dad and groomsmen in the cottages on the farm, whilst Monika was pampered and enjoying champagne with her bridesmaids and girlfriends. Monika being a lady of great taste and style chose a fab dress by the wonderful Parisian designer Cymbeline – infact she actually ended up with 2 Cymbeline dresses as she couldn’t make her mind up which one to wear…I’m glad though she went with this one in the end as she looked beautiful in it.

The ceremony itself was held outside, which is something I really love…it brings such a warmth and earthiness to everything. You can see it all looked wonderful and happily the sun smiled down on Monika and Jason as they shared their own written vows…Jason even promised to give Monika a foot massage every evening as he normally says no – how cute is that! (wish my hubbie would take note! hehe). Afterwards, Monika and Jason took some time out to create some lovely portraits together with me, whilst their guests were treated to some ‘Love Potion’ 🙂 And after much laughter during the speeches, there was even more fun to be had to round off their perfect day with an absolutely brilliant band called The Child who got the party started with some U2 and Kings of Leon…the room was rocking I can tell you! So, what you waiting for…go see for yourself! hehe

Jess- we got the 11L pimms jars/drinks dispensers on Ebay. Around ÂŁ30 each. I think ‘Jamie at Home’ has launched a range too.

Annamarie, you have absolutely nailed the atmosphere of the day, everybody looks so happy, exactly how we remember the day and the feeling of it !
I cannot wait to see the whole lot! Jennifer Sue did amazingly on the decor too!

Jess – I actually bought them off ebay, but they may be sold out. I spent a lot of time looking for them elsewhere and although they seem really common in America, they don’t seem to sell them anywhere else except on ebay. Let me know if you get stuck and I will see if I can help… Good luck with your arrangements, it is so much fun, and the reward on the day of seeing everybody having such a good time makes it all worthwhile (oh, and of course actually getting married itself is amazing too… 😉 )

Lots of love to all, and all of our guests, please do comment on Annamarie’s fantastic work! She is an absolute star!

We would love to use some of these for our website if that’s ok with you?
