London Engagement Shoot ~ Angela & Olly: i heart u

As soon as I met Angela and Olly I just knew we’d get on like a house on fire…we quickly found a few shared interests…with Angela it was our love of handbags and shoes, and with Olly it was a passion for diving and the desire to get up close and personal with a hammerhead shark (ok maybe not the personal bit, or infact too close! hehe), and our numero uno dive spot in the world is the one and only Sipadan, Borneo. So, I was over the moon at our first meeting when they wanted to book me for their gorgeously stylish wedding in London this February 🙂

We’d originally scheduled their engagement shoot for December, but due to the lashings of snow that hit the SE, we had to re-schedule to last weekend – we were slightly luckier with the weather in that it wasn’t snowing…instead though we to contend with drizzle and dampness (terrible for the hair – you know the type of weather girls…!) and really bitterly cold wind, but we all happily carried on regardless!

What I really loved about Angela and Olly, is the way they really threw themselves into the shoot, giving so much and simply allowing me and my camera to capture what makes them them – and that’s exactly what the engagement shoot is all about – getting to know each other, having fun and trying out a few moves, so when the big day comes around you feel totally at ease with me and my cameras. The more relaxed you are in front of the camera, the more natural you look and the better the images are, because I have a greater chance of capturing the real ‘you’. This is not something given by you or me – it’s something we create together and this engagement shoot with Angela and Olly perfectly demonstrates this. And this is one of the many reasons why I love being a photographer – for me it’s all about the connections with people. Honestly, it is such a buzz to capture people’s love and being around people in love…I find it truly uplifting and inspiring.

So, I’m super excited about sharing their engagement shoot with you today, as I think it captures their love perfectly – bubbly, bright and beautiful. Be sure to check back in early March to see what promises to be an awesomely cool wedding! In the meantime, enjoy…
