Brookfield Barn Wedding Photographer: Michaela & Stephen’s Glowy Summer Wedding at Brookfield Barn

(feat. bump, beats, the best doggy ring bearer, and the ultimate girl band!)

Some weddings just stick with you, and Michaela & Stephen’s summer celebration at Brookfield Barn is exactly the kind of day that reminds me why I love being a Brookfield Barn Wedding photographer. Sunshine, style, and the most iconic dancefloor I’ve ever witnessed? Yes please.

Getting Ready: Sunshine, Style & A Very Special Plus One

The morning at Brookfield Barn was full of that soft, excited buzz you only get on wedding days. Michaela looked absolutely radiant glowing with bridal joy, and the fact she was five months pregnant with their little boy. Truly goddess-level energy.

Her glam team nailed it with Kimberley Louise Makeup on beauty duty, and Pinnies Hair (Laura Pinson) creating flawless styles for the girls.  The bridal squad looked picture-perfect.

The bridesmaids all wore beautiful yellow JJ’s House dresses, giving the morning the vibe of a very well-styled summer dream. When Michaela slipped into her stunning gown from Fross Bridal Boutique, everything clicked into place; ready for the magic to begin.

The Boys: Sharp, Classic & Serving Bond-Like Confidence

As a Brookfield Barn wedding photographer, I’ve seen a lot of great groom style, but Stephen absolutely delivered. He wore a cream tux jacket, black tux trousers, and patent black shoes, while his best men and groomsmen were in full black tie. It was giving James Bond meets countryside chic.

The Lakeside “I Dos”

Brookfield Barn always brings the romance, but this ceremony by the lake was next-level beautiful. Stephen’s reaction as Michaela walked down the aisle (with her brother Ashley playing piano and brother Fearghus singing!) was the kind of moment that makes photographing weddings feel like such a privilege. And let’s talk about the absolute star of the day: their adorable cockapoo Lola, serving major cuteness as ring bearer in her coordinating yellow daisy neckerchief, basically stealing the show! During the register signing, more musical magic happened with Fearghus and his girlfriend Nancy singing.

A ceremony that had it all…personal, emotional, and completely unforgettable.

Confetti, Chaos & Couple Time

After the vows came confetti chaos. Maximum enthusiasm, minimal accuracy…10/10 vibes!

We escaped to explore the grounds for portraits, and Brookfield Barn delivered its usual magic. As a Sussex wedding photographer, I’m spoiled with beautiful venues, but the lakeside, the bridge, and the golden fields here always deliver.

Michaela and Stephen’s connection made photographing them incredibly easy. Natural, loving, and full of the types of little candid moments I live for.

The gorgeous floral work was by Mama’s That Flower, perfectly complemented the summery palette.

Dinner, Speeches & Handmade Details

The barn looked incredible thanks to To Have and To Hire, who always know exactly how to make a space feel warm and stylish without overcomplicating it. The table stationery was lovingly handmade, adding a personal touch.

Speeches? Equal parts heartfelt and hilarious.  The holy grail of wedding speech combinations. Stephen ended his with a surprise treat for the guests: shots served to every table with a full-on sparkler entrance. Calling it his “responsible married father-to-be” moment, he had the room cheering…pure gold!

Guests were fuelled by the always-fantastic Brookfield Barn catering, and the cake (made by their friend Chloe Crouch) was chef’s kiss levels of beautiful and delicious.

Golden Hour Glow-Up

Golden hour at Brookfield Barn is ALWAYS a highlight for me as a Brookfield Barn wedding photographer, but this one genuinely topped the charts. I’m calling it now: winner of the 2025 Golden Hour Magic Awards. The light was unreal! Soft, glowing, and absolutely perfect for capturing Michaela’s radiant bump and Stephen’s completely smitten smile.

The Evening Party: Enter the Fusion Girls

And then… the night exploded into pure party energy.

The Fusion Girls, an all-girl band with serious star power, absolutely tore up the dancefloor with sax, drums, guitar up front, and a DJ keeping the beats relentless. Easily one of the best evening acts I’ve ever photographed. The vibe? Electric. The vocals? Next level. The guests? Living their absolute best lives. The photos? Pure joy. I didn’t want to leave; the night was pure, unstoppable energy.

Earlier in the evening, Jonathan Majin (The Surrey Pianist) created the perfect relaxed reception atmosphere. Classy, calming, and the ideal pre-party soundtrack.

A Day Full of Heart & Sunshine

Michaela & Stephen’s Brookfield Barn wedding had everything. Emotion, style, summery joy, incredible entertainment, and the sweetest growing family. It was a total honour to capture their love story, and create memories for such a special chapter in their lives.

If you’re planning a celebration and looking for a friendly, natural, story-led Sussex wedding photographer or Brookfield Barn wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you here.
