Eltham Palace Wedding – Mayo & Lon

I’ve been lucky enough to capture a beautiful Eltham Palace Wedding and I have to say it’s one of my favourite venues. The architecture is fabulous and the golden bathroom is just breathtakingly beautiful! Mayo and Lon told me that it was this that drew them to it, as Lon himself is an architect – and they rather cleverly included it’s stunning circular room into their wedding invitations – check out the ring shot.

Aside from the gorgeousness of the place itself,

I have to say this Eltham Palace Wedding just made me smile…!

Mayo and Lon’s super happy day was simply perfect (bar the splash of rain that popped along fleetingly!). Everything about it made my heart sing – there really was just sooooooo much love and laughter, huge amounts of fabulous style and a serious amount of happiness. If I had to bake the perfect wedding cake, this wedding would be it. Being a wedding photographer is honestly a privilege and an honour – to be an integral part of such a day sometimes blows my mind a little if I’m honest. And it’s weddings like this that make it such a joy…just take a look at the lovely beaming smile on Mayo’s face (….I think it could light up the world!).

Styling wise I love how they complemented the architecture and dark wood panelled Great Hall, with the dressing of the tables for their wedding breakfast. I especially loved the apples used as place names. Also, Mayo and Lon painstakingly attached all the name tags by pins to each apple, and coupled this with Tabiki bakery gifts. Each guest had a customised wax sealed welcome (again all hand done by Mayo and Lon), including printed translations of the speeches for those unable to fully understand either English or Japanese.

Oh and I couldn’t write a blog post now and not mention Mayo’s shoes…yes…plural…a pair of monster high Steve Maddon gold bling shoes and some rather fab red Jimmy Choo’s – teamed with a gorgeous Jenny Packham dress – which complimented Mayo’s petite frame perfectly.  Also, how wonderful is Mayo’s custom made headpiece in Tokyo…so stylish and beautiful.  And Lon and the boys looked dashing too in black tie, with some shiny cool black patent shoes.  Altogether a rather gorgeous pair I have to say.

Their day finished with some very heart felt speeches, and much fun and smiles on the dancefloor.

Mayo and Lon it was a pleasure to capture your joyful day, and I wish you both lots more love and laughter on you begin your new exciting chapter as Mr & Mrs here in England xx
